HYE SEONG KIM AND DODGERS AGREE TO 3-YEAR, $12.5 MILLION CONTRACT

LOS ANGELES - Three time Golden Glove winner of the KBO is making his way to Los Angeles to join the Dodgers on a three year deal.

Hye Seong Kim is one of the best defenders in the KBO and has recently found success with his bat in the last two seasons. He is also the only player to receive a Gold Glove at both second base and shortstop in the history of the KBO.

The contract details seem to be fairly simple, a three year deal that amounts to a sum of $12.5 million. There are also two more option years provided that can keep him in Dodger blue until the 2029 season. If those options are picked up the contract total would grow to $22 million.

The Dodgers have yet to give the public a sign that they will stop any more moves, but with the addition of Kim there are questions of the depth chart and who may have to move down or move teams.

Diego Cartaya was designated for assignment shortly after the signing, and brought shock to Dodger fans as he won the 2022 Dodgers Minor League Player of the Year award. His offense has declined since then, but now Dodgers are on the clock to see who would be willing to trade for a young catcher.

The projected roster is at 27 players at the moment for LA, but most likely no more moves will be made to the veterans until spring training pending evaluations. Gavin Lux, Rojas, and Taylor appear to be the players that could be on the chopping block this offseason.

Time will tell for LA, but for now they can enjoy adding a Gold Glove caliber player to their starting lineup.
