LISTING ALL RAMS ADDITIONS IN 2025 FREE AGENCY
Los Angeles, CA - After a few days in Free Agency, the Los Angeles Rams have quickly turned themselves into the place to be in 2025.
With Matthew Stafford agreeing to yet another restructure on his deal, the Rams organization is once again in a win now mentality. With the now 37 year old taking the snaps, Los Angeles has a very limited window to try and fight for yet another ring, before the idea of a possible rebuild comes into play.
The young defense, led by Chris Shula also showed promise and will only continue to improve with Defensive Rookie of the Year, Jared Verse, leading the charge. There are many blocks to the amazing foundation that Les Snead andSean McVay have built over the year, but with a new salary cap increase up to $279.2 million by the NFL, L.A. has every reason to go and spend.
ADDITIONS
DAVANTE ADAMS
Los Angeles started the free agent turmoil by signing one of the best receivers in the NFL in Davante Adams. The 32 year old wideout is coming off another 1,000+ receiving season, his fifth consecutive season with that total.
However, with the addition of Adams, Cooper Kupp is the odd man out and was unfortunately released by the team this Wednesday. Adams is now on a two year - $46M deal with the Rams, only $26 million is guaranteed.
COLEMAN SHELTON
Rams fans should be familiar with Coleman Shelton, as he spent just one year away from the Rams organization down in Chicago. He graded out to be a decent center, according to PFF, just at a 66 Grade.
Shelton has been an average center in the NFL in his fairly young career, but he will be joining an offense that has already seen both Steve Avila, and Beaux Limmer play competitive football at the center position.
POONA FORD
From one Los Angeles team to another, Ford will be moving from the Chargers to the Rams in 2025 as he addresses a heavy need for the Rams defense.
The interior defensive lineman is joining the Rams on a three year/ $30M deal, and one many argue may be a steal for his consistent output on the football field. In 2024, Ford finished with a total of 3 sacks and 9 QB hits, both being his best in his career.
His signing ended the idea of the possible return of Bobby Brown III, as he now looks to find a new home in the league. Ford will be joining arguably one of the best defensive lines in the NFL, and it is exciting to see how his production can improve, especially seeing him be one of the best run stuffers last season.
TUTU ATWELL
Atwell is also making his return for his fifth year with Los Angeles. The speedy receiver has struggled his last two seasons to truly show why he deserves to be on this talented receiver roster.
A combined 1,343 yards is the total for Atwell in his last 3 seasons. In his rookie year Tutu did not make a single catch in the regular season. Regardless of the on field production, his speed and agility are two components of his game that have made him crucial to McVay's heavy play action offense. With Tutu on the seams he creates space for receivers like Nacua, Kupp, and Robinson to find open spots down the field.
His contributions have earned him a roster spot once more, but a temporary one at that. He signed a 1 year- 10M deal with Los Angeles.
ALARIC JACKSON
Alaric Jackson started off the 2024 season on the suspended list, by breaking policies with the NFL during the 2024 offseason. Yet, once he stepped up to the spot he fought against Joe Noteboom to hold the left tackle position, in which eh did end up securing down the stretch.
He has started 29 games in the regular season for L.A over the last two seasons, and played 100% of available snaps in 2024. Along with that in 2024, Jackson allowed 22 QB pressures, 3 sacks, and 4 QB hits through nearly 900 snaps played.
According to PFF, he grades out at 78.3 putting him at the 18th best tackle in the NFL.
JIMMY GAROPPOLO
Finally to tie it all up Jimmy G, is making his second year return with the horns. He started just one game in 2024, the final regular season game against the Seahawks. He threw for 334 yards and got two touchdowns with 1 interception in the 25-30 loss.
Garoppolo is only 33 years old, but is obviously heading towards becoming a bridge QB for any team in the league. He did show that he can efficiently run a McVay offense, so maybe we may hear more of Jimmy G down the stretch.
