CHARGERS FORCE CLOSE GAME AGAINST CHIEFS

PENALTIES AND EFFICIENCY SLOW MOMENTUM OF CHARGERS IN A GOOD DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE AGAINST THE CHIEFS

The Los Angeles Chargers will be 2-2 after week 4 after the 17-10 loss against the Chiefs. Now with a record similar to the Broncos and Raiders, who are in the AFC West. The Chargers will be a great team to have discussion about whether or not the team is set for playoff success.

While missing their two starting tackles, in Slater and Alt, the Bolts managed to hold down one of the best offenses in all of the NFL from the Chiefs. Holding Mahomes to 17 points is a feat of itself, but the Chargers defense also forced a fumble and an interception against the Chiefs QB. A defense that will be one to look out for the 2024 season was never the concern but rather the offense.

Two missing tackles and a quarterback who is playing on an ankle sprain that has yet to recover from Week 2, the Chargers put on a great first quarter performance. Scoring 10 points on the Chiefs after a successful first drive touchdown and a fumble that led to a field goal.

A total of 77 positive yards in the first quarter alone would be the only highlight for the Chargers offense with a combined 121 positive yards through the next three quarters.

The Chiefs would go on to score late and win the game 17-10, but the Chargers have some serious questions on Herbert’s health in the near future. The Pro Bowl QB has yet to have a over-200 game this year, and with the ankle not healing when is the right time for Herbert to get the week off.
