INJURIES AND SUSPENSIONS ARE ON THE RISE AFTER 20-10 LOSS TO STEELERS ON SUNDAY
The Los Angeles Chargers might look quite similar to their neighboring injury prone Los Angeles Rams.
The Chargers left Pittsburgh with a loss putting them at a 2-1 record in 2024 and Jim Harbaugh will now face his first piece of criticism after this week’s defeat. Once again a strong Steelers defense prevailed over a newly run offense and gave the Chargers a run for their money.
Herbert would throw for 125 yards and 1 touchdown before re-aggravating his high ankle sprain he suffered a week ago against the Carolina Panthers. In the third quarter, Herbert left the game limping into the medical tent and was replaced by Heinicke.
According to sources, Herbert is expected to return to practice this week as “x-rays were negative” for the Chargers.
Three other injuries were announced to starters against the Steelers. Rashawn Slater(Pec), Joey Bosa (Hip), and most recently Joe Alt (MCL) are reportedly out for now and could possibly move to the IR. With both starting tackles out for the foreseeable future, Herbert might not have time to heal that ankle.
As for Bosa, the pass rusher will once again not play a scheduled game with the Chargers. The Ohio State alum has not played a full schedule game since his 2021 Pro Bowl season. The Bolt fans were excited to see what a healthy Mack and Bosa could do together and with the Chiefs coming up, Chargers fans will not be excited for that pass rush against Mahomes.
