TANNER SCOTT FINALIZES 4-YEAR DEAL WITH LOS ANGELES DODGERS

Los Angeles - Free agency fills MLB fans with excitement knowing their team has a chance to land some of the best players in MLB. Unfortunately, the offseason hasn’t been going as planned for other clubs with the Dodgers making blockbuster signings left and right.

Another arm is joining the bullpen in Los Angeles for the 2025 season in the lefty Tanner Scott.

Scott was one of the best left handed relievers in all of baseball holding a 1.72 ERA through 72 innings with both Miami and San Diego. He only has two pitches in his arsenal, but they have been some of the hardest to hit in recent years, just ask Ohtani.

The Ex-Padres reliever stock grew exponentially after his performance against Ohtani and the Dodgers in the 2024 NLDS. Tanner entered in four games against Los Angeles and only allowed two hits and a walk. The performance put him at the top of one of the best free agent pitchers entering the offseason and the Dodgers made the decision to steal one of the relievers that had their number.

Scott was linked to a return to San Diego, but with other looming issues with the Padres club, Tanner’s future was up in the air. San Diego seemed like the best fit and his ability is something LA would have to worry about for years to come. Yet, he decided switched California towns, and will compete with LA until 2028 for a total of $72 million.
