LAFC WIN THEIR FIRST LAMAR HUNT U.S. OPEN CUP AGAINST SPORTING KANSAS CITY
LAFC have secured their first U.S Open Cup in club history in extra time against Kansas City.
The newest club in Los Angeles is currently in their 7th season in the MLS and will be looking to win another MLS Cup this playoff season. Through their short lifetime as a professional club, LAFC has won an MLS Cup, two Support’s Shields, and one Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Through the immense supports from Angelino’s and financial backing of owners, LAFC will remain a powerhouse for the foreseeable future.
With Galaxy leading the way in the Western Conference for the first time in over a decade, LAFC now have a chip on their shoulder to play with. LAFC have been dominated by the Galaxy this 2024 season, which is something club supporters have not heard of for some time.
Both LA teams hold a 9-9-5 record in head to head record since 2018, and if the Western Conference Standings remain the same we could see an “El Trafico” playoff game.
Since the arrival of the new head coach in Steve Cherundolo, success is what LAFC puts out. A remarkable start to a new managerial career, as LAFC are a dangerous squad to play regardless of their playoff seed. From the third seed to MLS Cup final in 2023, LAFC will not be crossed out and have a chance to reach the final once more.
