KERSHAW MAKES APPEARANCE AT SPRING TRAINING WITH DODGERS WITH REPORTED NEW DEAL
Los Angeles - With pitchers and catchers reporting to their assignments in Spring Training, Kershaw remained the odd man out for only a few days. He returned to Camelback Ranch for his 17th time today, and will join Ohtani, Glasnow, and many others in their push for glory.
Spring Training may feel a little different this year for the 36 year old, as his contract status was up in the air prior to his appearance. According to Alden Gonzalez, Kershaw has reportedly agreed to terms of a deal with the Dodgers for the 2025 season.
The future Hall of Famer posted a 4.50 ERA through 30 innings in his seven starts with LA in 2024. He struggled to get back into form after his one out appearance in the NLDS vs Arizona in 2023. After his rehab assignments, Kershaw returned to the mound in 2024 but struggled to find his footing.
Many LA fans should remain skeptical of what they hear about the lefty, as he battles to be one of the best pitchers back in 2022 during his last fully healthy season. In 2022, he held a 2.46 ERA through 131 innings and striking out 137 batters.
Now in 2025 Kershaw will most likely be sent to the bullpen and likely find himself some starts for LA during the season. He will possibly join the middle reliever lineup of Graterol and Banda, as the backend of the pen is already filled with top notch closers. Still the question remains if this will be Clayton Kershaw’s last season in baseball.
