RAMS LB ERNEST JONES REQUESTS A TRADE
eRNEST JONES HAS BEEN GRANTED PERMISSION FROM THE LA RAMS TO SEEK A TRADE FOR THIS SEASON
Los Angeles, CA - As reported per NFL.com, starting linebacker for the LA Rams, Ernest Jones, has requested a trade for this upcoming season. The middle linebacker had his best season in 2023 as he broke the Rams season record in combined tackles with 145. Along with a record-breaking season in tackles, the 2023 season was his best in all major defensive categories such as sacks, tackles for loss, and quarterback pressures.
With the form Jones was on, many NFL insiders expected an extension this past offseason, but without any progress to his new contract questions grew as to his value for the Rams. With new free agent signings and small extensions given to other pieces across the squad, the chance for Jones to receive a new deal grew thinner.
The Linebacker responded on X stating “I never asked for a trade” with a shrugging emoji. With his social media response many fans are left to wonder if the Rams are trying to cash in a big trade for Ernest Jones. Jones is a fan favorite and is expected to be the defensive captain for the second time in his career.
